Pra Somdej Chae Nam Montr Run Yorn Yuk 2547 BE - Wat bang Khun Prohm

This most beautiful and now rare collectible Somdej Wat Bang Khun Prohm amulets was soaked for three years in prayer water recieving blessings and chantings, after which it recieved an official mass Puttapisek blessing ceremony on the 3rd of March 2547 BE at Wat Bang Khun Prohm in Bangkok.

Amongst the many sacred ingredients including the five sacred powders used by Somdej Dto to make the amulets, old pieces of broken Pra Somdej Wat rakang amulets made by Somdej Pra Puttajarn Dto Prohmrangsri are also mashed into the mixture. All special boxed Pra Somdej amulets from the official Temples of Bang Khunb Prohm, Wat Rakang and Wat Gaes Chaiyo can be considered not only one of the most sacred Buddhist amulets available, but can also be considered a sound investment which will steadily increase in value as the years go by, and can be a wonderful inheritance for your children and later generations of yur family. The older such an amulet gets, the more beautiful it becomes (this is deliberately intended when making the sacred powder mixture, whose composition increases the beauty of the surface texture as it ages and undergoes changes in dryness and humidity).A classic example of the Benjapakee Top Five amulet family.

Pra Somdej bang Khun Prohm Pim Sen Dai (approx 50 years old)

Pra Somdej Wat Bang Khun Prohm - Pim Sen Dai - estimated to be made between 40 to 60 years ago.

The surface texture has increased its beauty with the aging process, and can easily be classed as 'Collectors Choice' Category of amulet.Click on a pic to view in full size. This amulet will (as all Pra Somdej amulets do), have undergone several Puttapisek blessings and been placed to be empowered in some, or all of the four great Pra Somdej temples of Somdej Pra Puttajarn (Dto) prohmrangsri of Wat Rakang Kositaram. In addition, the amulets will contain sacred powder from broken up old Pra Somdej amulets from either/and Wat bang Khun Prohm and Wat Rakang in them. I cannot identify the specific year and maker unfortunately, which is the only reaosn why this amulet is not in the Niyom Category of high priced amulets, judging from the fullness of character of the sacred powder surface texture under the eye loop.

Pra Somdej Wat Rakang and Wat Bang Khun Prohm

Pra Somdej Wat Rakang and Wat Bang Khun prohm box set Collectors edition

Somdet Wat Rakang and Somdej Bang Khun Prohm This box set was released in 2548 and was specially blessed at Wat Rakang in the Piti Maha Putta Pisek ceremony on 18th of April 2548. These are part of my personal collection and are not intended for sale. They are just for show on the blog so you cna familiarize yourself with Somdej amulets and get to know this edition, as well as admire the beauty of them.

The amulets were probably created and sealed under the Buddha statue in Wat Rakang for some yars before ther blessing ceremony. This is almost definite because firstly Wat Rakang amulets made under Royal commission, in conjunction with the Royal head monk Pra Sangkharacha, will always be made according to the tradition of authentic amulet making. An authentic amulet should be placed in the space under the base of the main Buddha image (Pra Pratan) in the main shrine of the temple (Uposot) for a minimum of 3 years. These amulets can be seen to have the typical aging marks of a Wat Rakang Somdej amulet.

You can see the appearance of the Wan 108 on the surface which appears as a light whitish powdery growth on the surface of the amulet. The crackled surface texture has begun to take on some darkening in the cracks and the crevices are becoming slightly deeper. This increases the beauty as the amulet ages.

The Thai Amulet (Archaeological Mysteries, No. 7)Thai Amulet Jatukam Gao-na Maha Chohk Maha Saehtthee Jatukam Suwannaphoom 50 Good Luck Amulet

I Particularly like the back of the Bang Khun Prohm amulet - it is very smooth and silky to the touch and has the typical Mai Gradan  lines in ti showing it has been laid on a natural surface (such as blackboard wood) to dry.

I am looking forward to see how these amulets age and increase in beauty as time passes. I will post new pics of them in a year or so to see if any differences have appeared on the surface (i'm sure they will have).

Pra Somdet Bang Khun Prom

This Amulet is from one of the four Royal temples - Wat Bang Khun Prom
The amulet is called "Pra Somdej Bang Khun Prom Chae Nam Montr" - Chae Nam Montr means soaked in prayer water. The amulet was blessed in 2547 (about five years ago) and soaked in prayer water. These amulets from royal temples will be taken for Piti Putapisek (blessing and chanting) to all four temples and blessed four times before release. This is already becoming a rather rare amulet to find, as most people who rented do not wish to rent due to the fact that the price will increase a lot as the years pass.
