Pra Somdej Wat Rakang and Wat Bang Khun Prohm

Pra Somdej Wat Rakang and Wat Bang Khun prohm box set Collectors edition

Somdet Wat Rakang and Somdej Bang Khun Prohm This box set was released in 2548 and was specially blessed at Wat Rakang in the Piti Maha Putta Pisek ceremony on 18th of April 2548. These are part of my personal collection and are not intended for sale. They are just for show on the blog so you cna familiarize yourself with Somdej amulets and get to know this edition, as well as admire the beauty of them.

The amulets were probably created and sealed under the Buddha statue in Wat Rakang for some yars before ther blessing ceremony. This is almost definite because firstly Wat Rakang amulets made under Royal commission, in conjunction with the Royal head monk Pra Sangkharacha, will always be made according to the tradition of authentic amulet making. An authentic amulet should be placed in the space under the base of the main Buddha image (Pra Pratan) in the main shrine of the temple (Uposot) for a minimum of 3 years. These amulets can be seen to have the typical aging marks of a Wat Rakang Somdej amulet.

You can see the appearance of the Wan 108 on the surface which appears as a light whitish powdery growth on the surface of the amulet. The crackled surface texture has begun to take on some darkening in the cracks and the crevices are becoming slightly deeper. This increases the beauty as the amulet ages.

The Thai Amulet (Archaeological Mysteries, No. 7)Thai Amulet Jatukam Gao-na Maha Chohk Maha Saehtthee Jatukam Suwannaphoom 50 Good Luck Amulet

I Particularly like the back of the Bang Khun Prohm amulet - it is very smooth and silky to the touch and has the typical Mai Gradan  lines in ti showing it has been laid on a natural surface (such as blackboard wood) to dry.

I am looking forward to see how these amulets age and increase in beauty as time passes. I will post new pics of them in a year or so to see if any differences have appeared on the surface (i'm sure they will have).
